My Fanta-Bulous Weekend Part One!

It was just another standard Friday in my office just that I was super hyped as it was my 3-deadlines-day. However everything went well and I was planning to head right home and "shut down" immediately, I was very tired. Out of the blue, my colleagues decided to head over the Causeway for dinner right after work and I was asked to go along (my first outing with them).

It was so impromptu, except the colleague who had her passport in the car, the rest of us was caught unprepared. Thus we waited for a bus to hop onto the car (parked a distance away from our office) and travelled to 3 other locations to pick up our passports. The five of us (Seashore, Malay, KK and KK's sister joined us) finally headed our way to Johor Bahru.

We finally reached JB at 9 plus, in a car full of starved people

The Korean BBQ restaurant is located on the second floor of a building along the coastline

Yeah! We finally reached our destination, in time for "supper"...

We chose to eat in their cool alfresco area instead of their indoor, air-conditioned area

The Menu: We ordered the Set Course for 5 to 6 person (super worth at 220 Malaysia Ringgit)

Just another corner of the cosy restaurant

3 very happy girls

They serve Buckwheat Tea (free flow) in "Carlsberg" cups...

The beginning of our feast! See the burning-red coal beneath the metal plate?

Look at the amazing array of side dishes that came along, oh I'm so happy.

More side dishes

Ommelets with lots of spring onion and other vegetable

Did I tell you that the side dishes are all "free flow" as well?

Some more side dishes. The plate of greens (top of photo) is used to wrap the cooked meat, your preferred side dish, any of the sauces and seasonings they provided. I've always love to eat this way, not bland but still healthy!

The four side dishes (from left to right): Marinated Cold Cockles (very tasty indeed!), Seasoned Vegetable (not sure what kind of vegetable it is but it is definitely bitter), Potato and Fruit Salad (refreshing addition) and Chilli Pickled Radish Shreds (I love!)

The first grill dish is finally done! Yummy! I started eating and really, taking photos became quite annoying as the food's so so good...

Next grill dish is Streaky Pork. I realise then that they will change the grill plate after every single grill dish, I'm impressed (thinking how many of those plates they had to clean after a day's operation).

Third grill dish: Chunky Beef Steak

Lovely when it's done

Next up: Korean Bean paste Marinated Prawns (My Favorite!)

Flip flip my precious prawns

They were skillfully de-shelled by the server

They are done!

My cute colleague dutifully placed his hand above the grill when I jokingly asked him to show how big the prawns were

The friendly server of our meal, he skilfully did all the grilling and cutting them into bite size once the dishes were done

The prawn was unexpectedly succulent, to the extent of being slightly "crunchy" to the bite. Everyone went "Mmm..." when they ate their share.

The last dish: A hot Kimchi Brew

It seem to be make up an assortment of ingredients: Kimchi, Korea Rice Cake, Ham, Enoki Mushroom, Hot Dog, Toufu and maybe many others that I did not take note. Beware, it's spicy.

We wrapped up our dinner with some strawberry ice cream (self serviced) and left, all feeling awfully happy, bloated and contented. To aid a little digestion, we strolled over to the nearby ZON, to explore. It appears to be a night party scene with many clubs in one single location (there's even a Modesto), really lively place.
Some photos to let you guys see what I saw

This is Cabana, seems like a great place to chill with a great sea view
We did not head back after that although it was almost 12 am. They proceeded to the Ah Piao Wanton Noodle but realised we had no room in our stomachs to spare. Thus we strolled around, visited a little "store" and brought quite some fruits back.

When we were at the Singapore custom for checking, the officer asked "What's in all these plastic bags?" and Seashore actually said "It's mangoes, coconuts and ba~nana..." with a expressionless voice. We all broke out laughing hysterically in the car all the way home. I guess we were pleasantly intoxicated with our exhaustion but was too happy. We all reached home safely at about 3 am. I really enjoyed myself, thank you guys!

Part Two and Three will be coming up soon...
