Somewhere Over The Rainbow!

Feeling breathless in the office? Your eyes' watery for straining at the monitor? Back's aching after being stuck at the same posture for hours? What the best remedy? I found mine right outside my office window...

Can you see that bit of rainbow amongst the gloom

Then the skies cleared up a teeny bit and the sight took my breath away

It's a huge rainbow! It's a pity that I could not capture the whole beautiful
arch, but it still manged to keep me standing there admiring in silence for a good ten minutes.

Nothing is forever, it evaporated into thin air quickly as the gloom came back.
Although the sublime scenery was short as can be, it left me evidently chirpy humming;

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true...

I believe there's always a rainbow deep in every kind soul's heart. Until the next time, take great care!

First Visit To My Official Massage Spa Boutique!

I mentioned in a previous entry that I purchased a massage package recently to give myself a treat about twice a month whenever I need a boost. As I'm not endorsing the company, I shall not mention the name but some of you may find the below logo familiar. Yap, I got my package with them.

It's currently located in a hotel, however I've heard news that they will be shifting to the next building after the the completion of their new premises and that location is a Ladies Only boutique. That extremely nice to hear. Thus currently, I'll still have to transit through the hotel to get to my massage place.

Up the elevator I go to get uplifted

I passed by the hotel's pool on the way to my private treatment room

My mind started to relax even before I reach the room

Fancy skinny dipping?

My room's quite spacious. I guess they are trying to impress me since it's my first visit.

It comes with it's on attach shower/ steam room

The experience this time was good, the masseuse climbed right onto the bed & cracked my spine all the way from my first to my every last vertebrae. I never knew I can "crack" like that. I felt completely "loosen up" after that and she went on with the rest of the massage followed by a scrub. However she went on talking & talking about her sister's and my misfortune (not that I'm penalising her for it), that I did not really get the chance to quieten my turbulent mind in peace. I needed it quite badly during that period of time. I walked out of the room with a well-kneaded body, but nothing much done for me mentally & emotionally this time.

Lesson learnt:

Tell the masseuse that you need to rest and they will understand. You paid for it, ask for what you want.

Dessert & Ginger Tea served after my treatment

After I got dressed and proceeded to the lounging area where my friend was waiting for me, I was served the above. Dessert was Beancurd Skin and Barley Dessert (腐竹薏米糖水), one of my favorite dessert. However they gave one of the a key ingredients a miss, Ginkgo Nut. It's a little disappointing but that was a value-added treat, can't ask for too much. I found a recipe that looks quite good, click if interested <Beancurd Skin, Barley & Ginkgo Nut Dessert (腐竹薏米白果糖水)> I think I'll attempt cooking it one day.

After the session, we were so hungry that we made a beeline to grab lunch. It's not proven but I think I'm always hungry after a massage, is it due to my renewed blood circulation doing it's magic? We order the below:

Korean Spicy Chicken Bulgogi (불고기)

My Bibimbap (I already have a post on this Korean dish, so I will not elaborate on it here)

So yummy! I love Bibimbaps!

Our view while we had lunch

Thank you for reading my blog, a little diary of mine. I'm so sleepy, going to nap now. I'll blog again later tonight!

Who's Rody?

My friend & I were just preparing to chill out along an isolated stretch of road when we felt droplets on our faces. We ran, laughing like kids, back to the car for shelter from the sudden downpour.
Since we were stuck in the car, I started to "explore" the inside of the vehicle & found this little figurine standing right in front of me. It looks like Hello Kitty had painfully skinned someone & wore the hide as some kind of jumpsuit with a hood, if I'm not wrong the skinned victim's call Rody. Who's poor Rody?

Meet Hello Kitty with Rody's skin

I was so curious about this that I was asking people around if they know who Rody is, everyone looked supper clueless. Then I found out more about Rody.

Meet the real Rody! I want one so that I can ride it day & night!

A Little Night Scenery

My colleague, Star & I were walking towards the station late one night. It was a weekend & I was feeling really sucky because we were working. Well, that's life. We were ambling down the quiet street talking about the day when we finally passed the endless stretch of gray landscapers. The skyline came into our view and my mood was lifted by the breath taking sight.

I was so intrigued by the beautifully lit area that I dragged Star to wander through the street with me although it was way off our original destination: station, last train, home. Star did not mind at all & came along happily. We strolled pass chic chill out places, a oyster bar, The Fullerton Bay Hotel (very nice), the old historical Clifford Pier which looks nothing like a pier now (but the architectural structure was preserved) & all the way to the grand Fullerton Hotel that transported me back in time for a moment. In fact I forgot all about snapping some shots. Dreamily we finally stepped into the station & realised that I made it for my every last train but Star did not & had to take a cab home. I felt quite guilty as cab fare in Singapore after 11pm's no joke, but for A Little Night Scenery like this, it's all worth it.

My Christmas Island

I was not doing anything one night recently & was ask to join a friend of mine for a drive around. I hesitated but took up the invite as I vividly remember I really loved night rides but did not have much time for that in the past year.
After I hopped on, my friend updated that we'll go grab some yum yum before we head to a park to eat. Hmm, it's not really what I expected but we bought fries, apple pie & cinnamon bites from a fast food joint and headed off into the night. Cool wind in my hair, music in the background while we chatted. However I can't help but kept checked my yum yum, they are getting cool fast. Terrible me, worried about the wrong thing at the wrong time. I turned back to my friend as we were still not decided on where to go. I was offered, we will either head upwards (Kent Ridge) or seawards (Labrador). I felt like listening to the waves that night & reached Labrador Park after much detour.
We walked alittle & settled down on a bench right along the walkway next to the sea and started eating..cold fries = yucks, sweet cinnamon bites = yum. However it started to drizzle & we had to hide in the car. Luck was with us & ventured out after the short interim rain. The rain seemed to have cleared the skies, it transformed into a cool starry night & I could see the distant industrialized island so clearly opposite us. I was mesmerised for a moment & my imagination drifted.. I named the scenery I saw right at that moment, in my heart: My Christmas Island.

Pretty right?
