Nice Food + Good Company + Cold Beer = Wonderful Session!

This is a yet another extremely long overdue entry. Sincere apologies.

It was a last minute outing. Mr Xiao has nothing to do after work and decided to drop by. It was drizzling and I was feeling as gray as the weather out there. I had the urge to just hide at home but I knew that's not what I deserve so I agreed. In fact I was a little worried if he was actually bothered by some issue...

I sheepishly told him I needed time to prepare but he seemed fine with it. My bad, I did take quite some time preparing half-heartedly. By the time I was ready, I dropped him a call and Mr Xiao was already waiting in the shopping mall near my place. He was so nice and said "If you don't feel like coming out, it's alright. I'll have dinner and head home. Don't force yourself."

After hearing those words, I told myself "You brat, you should not let a friend like that down." Thus I told him to wait for me and rushed over. He was already seated in Swensen's, I think he must be starving. So sorry... We order our food without further delay and started chatting while waiting for our yummy dinner to be served.

Cheese Sticks

The restaurant was so cold that the cheese hardened once exposed

Mushroom Soup in Bread Pot

Mr Xiao's Mushroom Baked Rice

My Salmon and Mushroom Baked Rice

Something hot to warm me up

We called for the bill after the meal and was given a scratch and win card. I passed it to Mr Xiao as I really have no luck in such stuff and we won a free scoop of ice cream! We thought and thought, to the waiter's relief, we settled with vanilla flavour. Feeling super satisfied, we waddled out of the restaurant for our after-meal break. I suggested walking while taking our break as the weather turned out quite fine that evening, so we continue waddling down the street. It was such a coincidence that I happen to look into one of the fast food joints and spotted a familiar face.

It was Mr Soulful, who's an ex-colleague of ours. He spotted us too (mainly due to my hysterical waving outside the glass panels) and his face lit up. We quickly finished taking our break and reunited with Mr Soulful, chatting while he gobbled his dinner. What a small world as both of then live in the same estate quite far away from mine, but they never bumped into each other in their own estate. There were we, 3 of us chatting like old buddies.

Woah, bad news spreads fast. Even Mr Soulful who left the office quite some time ago heard about what happened to me. I wonder if the whole world knows...

Well, I was depressed at that time so we bought some ice cold beer, settled at a nice cosy corner and had a great bit*hing session. We rambled and cursed about our own mishaps, prayed for the best for each other that if one have hit rock bottom, the only way to go is upwards. I'm skeptical but well, whatever.

 Beer Time!

I was half through my can when Mr Soul said "I'm not a very good drinker ya, so forgive me if I talk nonsense." while I eyed him opened his second can. Hur hur, he's one funny fella. Mr Xiao got a little unwell so we had to end the night slightly earlier then we planned, they dropped me off from their cab. However, I'm already grateful for the great company I truely enjoyed and went home smiling for another night. May we meet up real soon!
